Artist Statement

I am a mixed media artist focusing on experimental textile techniques and paint.

I create a combination of wall hangings, sculpture and film made up of sensitively collected natural and man-made elements that are then worked together to create new colours, form and meaning.

My work focuses on the human connection to place and healing. I’m interested in capturing powerful moments of stillness and connectivity within, that arise from being present in the natural world. I create images of landscapes that hold memories of those moments as well as observational pieces of native wildlife fauna and flora.

I see myself as a collector of things. I sustainably grow and forage for plants that can be made into dyes and paints using found fabrics and collect natural and man-made objects I find that hold memory to create these observational pieces.
