Rooted Within is Olivia Wilson’s first solo exhibition, set within the timeless and sacred surroundings of Cottesbrooke Church in Northamptonshire. As you stepped into Cottesbrooke Church, you entered an immersive space where textiles, nature, and introspection converged. The installation invited you on a journey that unfolded through a spiral of large-scale eco-textile panels, each dyed with natural pigments from UK-native plants. These textiles tell a story of inner transformation, plant-based healing, and our deep connection to the natural world, echoing the very landscapes from which their colours are drawn. Shadows moved across the fabric, shifting with the light, while a meditative film of plant imagery and an immersive soundscape by Samuel Yisrael created a sensory experience that invited stillness, curiosity, and connection.

A seed-like structure offered a space for quiet reflection, evoking cycles of growth and renewal.

It was a space to explore—walk, pause, step inside, and listen. Letting the materials, the sounds, and the interplay of light and texture guide you through a moment of contemplation, rooted in the rhythms of nature.
